v2.1 is Finally Here!

Hey everyone!

I'm so happy to announce that myPhotoBooth 2.1 has been approved and is now available in the App Store.

After being rejected 4 times, two months later myPB v2.1 is ready for download. Upgrade today and don't forget to leave a nice review if you like what you see.

3rd Time's a Charm!

I have made a minor correction and resubmitted myPhotoBooth v2.1 to the app store. I also just sent a kind letter to the great people at Apple begging for an expedited review. It's a long shot, but I'm just sick of waiting to get the goodness out!

Hopefully third times a charm!

v2.1 Rejected AGAIN!

I am going to jump out the window.

myPhotoBooth v2.1 was once again rejected. I'm literally in tears. We've been waiting for this update to drop for like a month now and twice rejected. The only three letters that come to mind right now are: WTH

Well. It's an easy fix this time and I'll have it resubmitted tonight. Here we go, another two week wait. I have been thinking about requesting an expedited review, I will update if that happens.

I've been up to some other cool things. Working on a video app and another camera app. I'll follow with more details on those soon.

v2.1 REJECTED :-(

Well..

If you've been following me at all on Twitter then you'll know that myPhotoBooth v2.1 was slapped on the forehead with the big-ole-rejected-stamp. I suppose I misused a button or something or other.

So bad news is that the update is now another 10 - 14 days away. The good news is that it's submitted and on the way. More good news is that I took the opportunity to change up the way Insta-Booth looked and worked.

Originally you went into the booth and it just fired 4 shots on a timer. Now you have the control to snap the 4 consecutive shots yourself or set the timer. I also added a Full Screen Button feature so it's easier to take those self portraits!

So there you have it, v2.1 is resubmitted and even better then before. I've got a couple screen grabs if you hit 'Read More'

If you're unfamiliar with the Insta-Booth! feature it allows you to snap 4 consecutive pictures and it automagically creates the photostrip with those 4 photos.

Let's hope this sucker gets approved! Woo!

Uploading Photostrips to Facebook

I see there are a few complaints in the reviews on iTunes that a couple people are having trouble uploading to Facebook and I would like to clear this up now.

This is kind of weird to explain in a way that reads right but I'll give it my best shot.

Facebook doesn't like photos that are of dimensions like the strip layout - 120 x 600 or 240 x 1200.. The long and narrow kind. It doesn't mind the quad layouts at all because they're properly proportioned.

3% Crash Rate

Well I'm happy to report that so far my data shows that there is a 3% crash rate of myPhotoBooth. Which I'd say is fairly low.

If you are experiencing any crashes whatsoever with myPhotoBooth please let me know so I can fix it! It's my goal to squish every damn bug that pops up.

Just send me an e-mail using the "Support" link above and let me know what you were doing when the app crashed and if you could reproduce it or not.

Thanks!

myPhotoBooth v2.2 suggestions

myPhotoBooth v2.1 update should hit any day now and I'm real excited about the nice new feature that brings, Insta-Booth. I'm not sleeping and feverishly working to meet your needs, yes, you. So I'm compiling a list of features to include for the next couple updates. So far I think 2.2 is locked in with the following feature updates. 2.3 is up in the air a little bit because those are some hefty features so they may come in 2 separate updates.

Let me know if you'd like to see anything else!

v2.2
camera timer
tap anywhere to shoot for camera
auto-save to library on exit (make option in settings)
'done' button to 'save' button on main edit view
update on Insta-Booth graphics
saves Twitter info if changed on sharing menu

~v2.3 - v2.4
Scale
Resize
Re-position
Rotate
Photostrip Photo Wall

UPDATE: So I'm also working on print integration with the Print app by Eurosmartz.. Still in process with that and will have a better idea where this is going to fit into the coming updates.

I'm flipping out!

Sooooo.... I went to bed last night and myPhotoBooth was sitting at #10.. Which I was very delighted about. I woke up this morning to myPhotoBooth sitting at #9!!!

Go baby! Keep climbing! I will probably pass out if it reaches #1. I hope I find out! hah

So on to another day of constantly refreshing the app store photography page.

An Important Tip For iPhone Users

Has anyone just been totally frustrated by constant crashing of apps or general sluggishness of their device?

I sure am sometimes. I use a lot of apps all the time and I know from my own experiences developing that apps can be buggy but most of all they can be hard on memory and the iPhone OS itself is no different.

It's up to developers to make products that do not leak memory and as much as I try to hold up to Apple's high standards of memory management, some things still slip past the goalie.

Luck #13

Well. myPhotoBooth is sitting at lucky #13. When I saw that I was featured yesterday and my ranking shoot right up to #35 I was really just hoping that I'd crack the top 25. When it blew threw the 25 marker my sights are now set on the top ten!

I really want to crack the top ten!! If you like myPhotoBooth please tell your friends about it! Don't forget about the coming update which brings Insta-Booth! - snap 4 shots in a row, just like the real deal. That should hit the store this week hopefully!

Thanks everyone for all the support and great feedback!
-Joe
